Here at Northern California Views (NCV) we want our website visitors and users to be reasonably aware of any information we may collect. We want you to know how we use the information we do collect and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it.

Information Collection And Use

We respect each site visitor's right to personal privacy. To that end, we collect and use information throughout our website only as disclosed in this Privacy Policy. This statement applies solely to information collected on this website.

The web server we use collects only an absolute minimum amount of information from each site visitor. Specifically, we do not automatically collect information about a user?s name, home address, phone number, place of work or business, e-mail address, or other forms of personal identifying information.

We do collect information identifying a user's Internet service provider (ISP) should the need arise to ban or report someone who has become abusive to other members or of the privileges we extend to our members. NCV does collect this minimum amount of information in the form of cookies. (Click the following link for a technical and possibly boring Definition of Cookies. Click this link for a more satisfying and delicious Definition of Cookies!*)

Information collected by NCV is never shared with other organizations, businesses, firms, or individuals for commercial purposes.

Registration Information

Registration is not required to enter, read information posted publicly on NCV, or make comments on material posted on this site. Only individuals who want to post information, stories, or articles on this site must register to become members. Registration is not an automated process, is rare, and open only to a select few.

During registration a potential member is required to provide a limited amount of contact information. But NCV never sells or gives away this information. It is only gathered to contact our members about services, issues, activities, or features for which the member has expressed interest; or to promote voluntary associations and communications with other members. Potential members and active members are free to provide demographic information (income level, gender, etc.), and unique identifiers (username, password, etc.). Providing such additional information helps provide a more personalized experience at NCV, but is not required.

From time to time NCV and/or its individual members may operate online surveys or polls. Participation in such activities is entirely voluntary.

Website Nature

NCV is a not-for-profit web site. Its primary author and contributors are volunteers. No funds are solicited through the site nor are any items sold through the web site. While the initial author and original contributors live in and around the California city of Sacramento, the web site has no commercial building as its base, maintains no permanent offices, paid staff, or business phones. Individuals wishing to get in contact with the site's authors and volunteer managers should use this form.

Notification Of Changes

Any changes or modifications to NCV?s privacy policy will published via this privacy statement.

Conflict Resolution and Contact Information

We are committed to resolving disputes regarding our information collection activities and/or policies as quickly as is feasible given the voluntary nature of this site. Should any individual have a need to contact NCV or its volunteer staff in order to resolve a conflict (or for any other reason) please contact us via this form.

* NCV has no relationship with the organizations or firms referenced in the two preceeding links.  In fact, they do not even know we have provided links to them.
